Rebecka’s Lingerie celebrated its 45th anniversary with a remarkable art exhibition at the Green Hills Public Library. The event, held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., honored the store’s enduring legacy and paid tribute to its original owner, Rebecka Vaughan Lambert. The exhibition also marked a celebration of resilience, as the store thrived despite the pandemic-related closures of 1,120 Tennessee businesses.
The art exhibition showcased the evolution of lingerie over the past 45 years, featuring iconic pieces, innovative materials, and technology. Attendees marveled at fashion designs, sketches, and artistic representations promoting body positivity and women’s empowerment. Engaging discussions on women’s empowerment, boutique ownership, and the significance of finding the perfect fit added depth to the event
A highlight of the exhibition was the involvement of Belmont University students, who presented their artistic talents alongside seasoned artists. This collaboration offered invaluable hands-on experience, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. As faculty adviser of Tower Creative Communications Trenay Perry Bynum noted, “the event provided a platform for students to demonstrate creativity, organizational skills, and strategic thinking.”
Co-owner Adrienne Francis, niece of Rebecka Vaughan Lambert, expressed her gratitude and pride in continuing her aunt’s vision. “This event is not just a celebration of our store’s history but also a tribute to my aunt, whose passion for empowering women through fashion continues to inspire us,” said Francis.
The event was a fitting tribute to Rebecka’s Lingerie’s storied past and a celebration of its bright future, blending art, fashion, and empowerment in a memorable and impactful way.
